The full training pathway
The complete programme comprises nine five-day modules: 45 training days, normally spread over three years. The mixed-level format also allows a flexible pathway to be discussed with the organisers.
Later modules explore contact and experiments; core beliefs and missing experience; indicators and beliefs; relational systems and professional ethics; personal integration; and integration into work with others. Dates for the later years have not yet been announced.
Completing the training and obtaining Hakomi certification are separate processes. Please ask us about the requirements for your intended pathway.
2027 fees and participation
- Full year: €1,650 for the three 2027 modules, VAT included.
- Individual module: €620 until one month before it begins; €660 afterwards.
- Individual modules can be attended separately. Contact us to discuss which one suits your experience.
Learning through experience
What is Hakomi?
Developed by Ron Kurtz, Hakomi is a mindfulness-based, body-centred approach to psychotherapy and assisted self-discovery. It invites us to slow down and notice how our experience takes shape: through sensations, emotions, gestures and ways of relating.
Small, collaborative experiments can bring habitual patterns and underlying beliefs into awareness. The work is guided by curiosity, non-violence and respect for each person’s pace, with attention to experiences of connection, support and emotional nourishment.
In our courses, personal exploration and learning the method happen together. You learn through your own experience as well as through observing, practising and reflecting with others.
You can also read our introduction to Hakomi in Spanish.
Meet the facilitators
Carlos Ramírez García
A psychologist and psychotherapist based in Bilbao, and a Hakomi trainer and supervisor. Carlos combines clinical practice with teaching, bringing together mindfulness, body awareness, therapeutic relationship and professional ethics.
He facilitates the October introductory workshop and teaches the November course and the upcoming 2027 training modules with Maru Serrano.
Maru Serrano
A Hakomi trainer and educational director of Hakomi Cascadia International and Hakomi Madrid. Maru assisted Ron Kurtz in trainings and individual sessions from 2000 to 2011. Her work brings Hakomi teaching together with somatic exploration.
She joins Carlos for the November 2026 course and the upcoming 2027 training modules.

Language and interpretation
Teaching is bilingual in Spanish and English. A professional interpreter provides consecutive interpretation: the speaker pauses so that what has been said can be conveyed in the other language. Both facilitators also speak English and Spanish.

Your questions
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No. You can take part in English. The activities listed here include professional consecutive interpretation between Spanish and English, and the facilitators are bilingual.
Can I join for personal interest?
Yes. The activities welcome personal as well as professional interest. You do not need previous experience for the introductory workshop. For the longer training or the November course, contact us to discuss your background and participation.
Can I attend just one module?
Yes. The 2027 programme allows individual modules, and the November 2026 course can be attended independently. The October workshop is also a standalone introduction.
Does completing the training give me certification?
Training completion and certification are separate. Contact us about the certification pathway and its requirements. Participation does not itself confer a professional licence to practise psychotherapy.
How do I request a place?
Email or WhatsApp Carlos in English, naming the activity you are interested in. We can discuss participation, availability and the registration process. Sending an enquiry does not reserve a place. For the 2027 training, places are allocated in payment order, with priority for annual agreements or previous Hakomi experience.
What is the cancellation policy for the 2027 training?
The published policy offers a refund less a €100 administration fee for cancellations up to 15 days before the training begins. It also mentions the possibility of a non-renewable credit for the next course or module. Ask us to confirm which option applies to your booking, and the terms for later cancellations, before paying.
